BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE
Not exaggerating in the least. No effing way. I love them. Completely and entirely.
Side note: Geoff and Tyler. Sorry if I came off as really bitchy/rude (probably 'cause I was lol) but I was drunk, and effing pumped for the show. Hope y'all had fun
Anyway, so I got to Brandon's house and waited for Matt to show up. I couldn't drink my beverage in his house obviously, so my insanely alcoholic mix was drank in the 20 minutes we spent on the Queensway.
Not going to make this long winded ... I swear ...
After the weird warm up group (Mars Volta?) got off stage ...
Gods appeared.
Honestly. Like. I'm getting chills right now thinking about it. They're so good. One of the few bands that aren't studio artists. They sound BETTER live.
Everything was such a high energy song. Even songs like Snow, and ESPECIALLY Under the Bridge. EVERYONE sang those. I was on my chair with the lighter going.
Leaving the Corel Centre, we had all our windows down blasting a Chili's album and yelling at everyone we drove past.
I need to see them again. I can't wait. And I want even BETTER tickets. These were awesome ... but if I could get front row one day ... I can't even think about how sweet that would be.
I say again. Best night of my life.
Thanks Brandon and Matt. And Adam for the ride.
♥ :)

I am officially done my summer jobs. I've been aching for ... yesterday I guess for half of the summer.
The home gave me a goodbye card and stuff. Sandra hugged me, oh man that was scarring. lol. Anyway I'm glad to be out of there, although Mrs. Anderson was nowhere to be seen on my last day ... shame :(
T-Mor's last day was nothing special. Kat and I ordered pizza, and I got my vacation pay. That's it.
Man I was so glad to be done.
Last night, Meagan, Sarah and I went to see Accepted. Fuckin' hilarious. Everything I thought it would be and more.
Dunno what I'm going to do tonight. Maybe I'll just sleep the day (and night) away. Oh that would be nice.
Today ... my first whole day off ... and I'm bored. Yeehaw!
Common schoooooooool, you can start now!!

Right on, so a quick fill-in:
- Katie and Meagan are home, after an agonizingly long absence. They also survived the stupidness with the flights and the potential terrorist attacks
- Dan's cottage was fabulous. Saw a good 15 shooting stars, if not more. Lots of alcohol, fizzbee, 40 year old virgin, tubing, rocks, matching sweat pants, and a 2 am swim to top her all off. Thanks Dan and everyone else who went! I hope we'll do it again next year :)
- I paid my tuition this week. THAT made a dent. Ow. Thankfully I've stocked up on booze, so that won't really need to be an expense for the next little while. Although gas is killer.
- Handed in my "resignation" for Travel-Mor. They laughed at me! Apparently I'm the only one who's ever done the formal thing instead of just being like, "Yo Kim-bob, I'm done working as of Tuesday". lol. So Ya, my last shift at the home is the 30th, and my last at T-Mor is the 31st.
- I went bowling with Mike on Wednesday :) I missed him!! We played Merivale, and that was my first time playing with the new synthetic lanes. Oh man, this year is going to be an interesting adjustment! Anyway, I think we're going to play each Wednesday for the rest of the month (okay so for the next 2 Wed. Who cares! He's awesome!)
- YABA (Young Adult Bowlers Assoc) starts Sept. 11. SO EXCITED! Mike's going to put us on a team together, it's going to be a blast!
- I'm getting excited for school. Actually I'm not sure if I'm excited for school, or if I'm just more sick of summer. Who knows. I can't wait for fall either!
- The boy situation isn't much different than it has been all summer. *sigh*. Who knows where this'll go. Probably nowhere ...
Oh!
ANYONE LIVING IN THE SOUTH KEYS AREA, OR WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO A VEHICLE TO DRIVE TO A JOB ... AND IS LOOKING FOR A PART-TIME JOB FOR SCHOOL, LET ME KNOW! I HAVE TWO PLACES THAT I CAN RECOMMEND YOU AT, AND YOU'RE ALMOST A GUARANTEED HIRE!
Ya.
At the home now, so I'm going to fain productivity.
Peace ouuut

Sooo
Katie's flight got canceled yesterday ... she's been stuck in Newark NY for over 24 hours.
Haven't heard from Meagan yet, so I guess she's flying today.
I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH, I WANT TO SEE YOU!!
Katie's plane is *supposed* to land in Ottawa at 10:10 this morning. And I have noo clue where Meagan is flying from. I thought I heard she had a stop-over in Texas ... but that was a long time ago. So there's not much chance of me finding out where the crap she is.
If I don't see you guys before I peace it to Dan's ...
I love you. Welcome home :) ♥♥♥

Other than that ... most things are crappy. I am talking to a random guy from Stittsville though who goes to U of O ... maybe he'll change things around.
Doubt it.
Thing are stretching out so awkwardly and poorly that I've actually started praying again. For anyone who knows my religious stance ... that's huge for me.

I forgot to post these quotes yesterday, but they're from a couple of the residents:
O - Old person
R - Receptionist
O: Is it 3 o'clock?
R: No, it's 10:15
That one just throws into strong relief how disoriented ones life becomes at that age. They rarely know what day of the week it is, and even when they think they do, they're about 3 days off. It's depressing.
Keep in mind though, that the resident who asked this question is one who constantly asks if he watch is at the right time (which it usually is) but she can't tell time. Yet she needs a watch?
and my favourite ... perhaps of all time working here. No that's a lie. Second favourite
O: I'm going for a walk outside
R: Okay, stay close
O: It's okay, I've got my hat *shows hat*
Buh?
And here's my FAVOURITE of ALL TIME.
*Mrs. Weldon is escorting her daughter out the door when she walked past the window into the nurses office, where she saw Mrs. Law having her blood pressure and medication taken*
"Oh, there's Helen, down to get her brain medication that doesn't work"
Soo good
Oh! And when I was posting stuff in the dining room last night, people were having tea. About 8 of them. What were they doing?
Telling dirty jokes to each other.
Amazing

Okay, so I'm home from Alberta. Got home Wednesday night. The past few days have been nice without mom. She got home this afternoon around 4. I haven't seen her, I'm at work.
Saw a lot of cool stuff, and bought way too much stuff on top of that. I'll post the pictures once I get my laptop back. It's out to be fixed and apparently the part (which is like $160) will take another 2 weeks to come in. Good thing I got it done now instead of during the school year. It'll cost like $250 thought if I think about labour costs. Damn
Anyway! Going to either see some of the old crew, or Brandon tonight. Hopefully both though!

So I've been out west for ... 5 days now? It's been alright, I've seen soem pretty cool stuff. Pictures I will post when I get home (I'm on a computer at my new hotel).
This is the first time I've ever been homesick though. I've always travelled with a friend. Swim team ... bowling ... school trips ... always had at least one good friend with me. Now I'm stuck with my mom who get's really annoying/different when she's not at home (if you ever see her talk on the phone, you know what I'm talking about) and for the past 3 days I've een stuck with my social outcast of an uncle too. The one who called me a slut after my grandfather's funeral. Yah. Lots of fun.
So I'm ready to kill my mom ... or myself. Not sure which would be easier.
But the stuff I've seen has been cool. The stampede was awesome, but I missed the calf-roping/bulldogging (whichever you prefer) which is one I really wanted to see. I went to Banff and Lake Lousie - the latter being the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Google Image it, you'll get an idea. Went to some canyons and stuff and ... I'll rant about it when I get home.
Cutting this short. :)
Dan's cottage in about ... 3 weeks? Two days of being totally hammered! I need this!! Yeeha!!
PS: I bought cowboy boots :)

Past week has been really weird. I'm so disoriented right now that I couldn't describe it to you if I tried.
I've fallen hard and fast again for a guy that I'll never be able to get. *Boo hoo ... same shit, different pile.* I wonder when/if my luck will change.
*change of topic*
lil Skid is home again. I drove her home from Belleville last night. I didn't know she could go 120. Go girl :)
I leave for Alberta Wednesday morning at 8:00 am. Thank Jeebus. I hate all of my jobs oh so very much.
I'm getting into an emotional rut again, I can feel it. Not too sure how to get out of this one ... I'm sure my plans for getting wasted that keep getting thwarted aren't helping.
Alcohol heals all :)
So before I leave I want to get wasted. Won't happen I'm sure ... but it would be nice to get it done.

Even moving it to the basement of the civic centre, it was still crowded and semi-poorly organized.
They had Murray piping for them this year. He graduated this year too ... he's been there for like 6 years, I swear.
*TO THE GRADS! (that read LJ)*
I'm very proud of all of you (not to sound condescending), and you're going to have lots of fun next year. University isn't half as scary as they make it out to be, just do your work and you'll be fine. Promise.
Welcome to the world of reality. It is what you make of it (Mrs. Johnson told me earlier this year that everything is downhill after high school ... not too reassuring. So I say, prove her wrong!)
I'm glad I got to see you all cross the stage :) You make me smile very much so.
Have fun at your grad parties tonight/tomorrow/this weekend lol.
And I want to find some time to party with y'all. ASAP!

Cheers to you! ♥

Sooo this morning I went to see Deiter (my dad's and now I guess my chiropractor) to figure out why the hell my back feels like it's dying.
So we took some x-rays and I was told to come back for 3:15.
And I did. (go me)
So I came back to do a physical examination, test flexibility and stuff, and that report is supposed to be done for me on Wednesday.
So! The x-rays were done and Deiter put them up. Since I don't have the x-rays ... I'll use some kind of a visual aid ...

Alright, so in between each vertebrae there is a hole. See it? They're smaller at the top and they grow as they go down the spine.
That hole allows for the nerves with travel down your spine to come out and go to all different parts of your body and allow them to well ... work!
Now look at this pitcure:

See the two X's on the bottom two holes?
WELL
The second hole from the bottom on my back is about halfway closed. And the bottom-most hole? Completely closed! Meaning that my spine is crushing some nerves in my back right now!
Sounds pleasant/excruciating doesn't it?
But that's not all!

We all know that what's above is a healthy looking spine from the front, right?
Okay wellllll

The X's at the base of my spine are where my nerves are being pinched. Those parts of my spine are twisted 3.5 mm to the left of where they should be.
There are a couple of -'s near the middle of my spine. Those are areas that haven't caused me problems yet, but I do have kinks in that area a lot, and if they're not treated soon, they will cause me problems.
Oh, and the arrow pointing down on my left hip? That's because my left hip is 6 mm lower that it should be. I'm walking on an angle really.
Last set of pictures!!
Onto my neck ...

That is approx. what a normal neck should look like. Nice little curve, see that?
This is what MY neck looks like ... (without the istock photo of course... although that would be cool)

Except mine looks a little worse. I think it's called complete reversal curve, what I've got anyway.
It's all apparently related to my lower back issue right now.
So now I have a 12 month program full of back-snapping good times and some massages too. Looking forward to those.
Thanks for reading my anatomy lesson (what happens when you're bored :P)
So we took some x-rays and I was told to come back for 3:15.

So Wednesday I called in sick to the home, because quite honestly I did feel like shit. I cleaned my bath tub when I went home and just took it easy ...
Thursday, what happens? I pinch a fucking nerve in my lower back somehow and I've been in agony ever since. Friday morning, Dad tried to get me a chiropractor appt. but the dude never called back before I had to go work at storage. So I couldn't go Friday ... then the only other time was Saturday morning from 9-12 ... guess what, I'm working 9:30-4 today. So I can't even hope to get my back fixed till Monday.
I went to Midway last night with Brandon, Matt, and JP. Wasted a good $20 of Brandon's money lol. Well I didn't ... I just kinda watched a lot, played a few games though. After that we went to Summerhays in Centrepointe. This time we didn't have to leave (long story). Oh ... the cheesecake there ... FUCKIN' AMAZING. Like ... just woah. And I'm not even a huge cheesecake fan (blasphemy!)
That's about it. I have to go make some brochures. Fuckin' Sandra lol.
Oh ... I was with the dude for a lil' bit, and we were driving in my car, and Cascada's Every Time We Touch came on and I thought to myself "This is kind of weird how true it is". Then ... all he said was "Wow, if a girl ever thought this of me, I would be so smitten" (okay he didn't say smitten ... but it was something along those lines, and I just wanted to say smitten alright?)
Dang
Peace out :P

So the concert was last night. Pretty good :)
Katie and I saw Carolyn (Hume) at the bus stop before we got to the concert. Talking to her for a while, and weirdly enough, Andrew Black's mom. Odd. Anyway, Carolyn gave me the thumbs up for Kim, the boys and I to go see Toby Keith in Syracuse. Siiick
Saw Steve while he was at work at the tailgate party. That was col :)
Bought me a George Strait shirt that says "Honky tonk Heartbreaker". All I cared was that it said Honky Tonk lol. There was a nice shirt that was kinda ripping off the John Deere symbol ... but the girls shirt were really ugly colours of green and yellow, and the guys shirts were the type that a girl can't wear without a lot of alterations lol. Oh ... and I bought Katie booze :P
The concert itself was pretty good. Miranda Lambert was good, and so was Tracy Lawrence. I'm glad to see that the older-style country is back in style instead of all the "Big n' Rich" type bands :). The downfall is the type of show they put on for a crowd. Very old school.
This is clearly why Garth Brooks is the ultimate performer EVER. Amazing music, and hugely energetic ... although it's hard not to be with the size of audiences that he brings in
TANGENT OVER
I have to admit, though it will only further prove my lover for older men, George Strait is quite the specimen lol. The only beef I have with the show was that he didn't play my favourite song!! He didn't play "Write This Down"! I was so sad. But "Check Yes or No" and "I Just Want to Dance With You" were pretty stellar.

I've worked 7 days this week. Sucks to this ass-mar.
Okay so I guess I'll discuss the events of Friday night.
( The Stag, the other Party, the Stag, and the after-party )
( The Next Day ... )
All in all ... not a bad night. No hangover either :)
Wow, my posts are getting way too detailed for their own good. I guess it's good that I can remember stuff though, especially when drinking lol.
Random question:
Do you find it ironic that a large chunk of nurses and doctors smoke?

Some of you have heard me talk about one of my bowling coaches named Steve. I've known him ever since I started YBC (like when I was 5) and in the past couple of years we've gotten tighter ('cause I've gotten older, so we can joke around in a style that's ... more his own let's say). Keep in mind that Steve is in his early 50's.
Steve in the past year:
- coached me for Youth Challenge; so he went with me to Trenton for regionals, and then to Collingwood for Ontario Winter Games
- he came to watch/coach/cheer me on at 4 Steps Singles at Vanier
- he and I were partners at Bill Mackenzie/Coach-Senior
- and we intended on getting into the Master-Senior competition in Oshawa, but all the spots were full
- we also did a bunch of little tournaments for shits and giggles
To be honest, I'm not a fan of Steve's coaching methods. Hes not the best coach for me, but he always does help calm me down, and remind me to have a good time. He's a perv but as long as he's not TOO drunk he's alright lol. (Don't worry, nothing bad has happened)
Anyway, on last Sunday night, I was at Walkley with my friend Adam who works there, and he mentioned that Steve had just driven him home from the Pro-Am earlier that morning, but since Adam had to come right to work, they didn't drop off all his stuff. Steve said that he would stop by the bowling alley later to give him his bowling stuff.
I hadn't seen Steve in over a month, so I texted his phone (which number I got in Collingwood in case anything were to happen) saying "Hey come to Walkley tonight! I'll be there. And don't give me the crap about being too hung over to come haha" - I knew they had all gotten blitzed the night before.
So I guess Steve was with his girlfriend, who I (used to) get along with well. We joke, she teased me for going with Steve in some tournaments instead of her, we've played a few games, she gave me her cell number and email, yada yada yada. Anyway, his phone went off and he said "Oh a text msg from Kayla" (I'm pretty much the only one who texts him). His girlfriend goes, "Who's Kayla?!" all mad. So he proceeded to tell her who I was in a way that was like, "uhh ... you know who she is". So she started to get all mad that he was receiving texts msgs from a 19 yr old girl. Uhh ... okay.
Please note - I don't care about age differences for stupid shit like this. I'm obviously not going to bang Steve or anything, but my coach Mike and I send each other hockey game updates all the time, and Mike is in his late 30's and married. It's not like a text msg from me is any great significance (as many of you know lol. It's the burden that comes with unlimited ;)).
Yesterday was the 1st day of the Walkley YBC summer training. If you want to keep bowling during the summer and you're part of YBC at Walkley, you're welcome to go on Tuesday nights. I had sign language, so I didn't get there until later, but I had mentioned I'd offer to coach once my Tuesdays became free again. So I was told to tag along to the meeting in the bar after.
Steve's gf also coaches at this little shindig, so she was at the meeting too. She gave me the cold shoulder, and if I said anything, she'd be very short with me. Once the meeting was over, she said she was going to go home, and Steve said, "okay, I'm going to have another beer". That ticked her off (why?), so she dragged my friend Adam (the one who works at the alley) outside for a smoke. She starts venting to Adam about how Steve apparently acts different around me, whenever Steve is around it seems that I'm around, bleh bleh bleh.
She's threatened by me
What the hell? I'm both offended and amused. Seriously. Steve is fuming though. He's not mad at me at all he said. In both mine, his, and Adam's opinions (we collaborated after the alley was shut down lol) I've done nothing wrong. She's getting way too anal for Steve's tastes he said.
That was all just too amusing not to write about lol.
Oh! So I had a whacked out dream last night. Maybe two ... I'm kind of fuzzy on the first dream now though ...
I was with a few people at a cottage, and we were trying to go on a boat tour or something ... and he were in danger of not being able to jump on the moving boat ... so then we had to deliver some sandwich that looked like a giant floating cheese bread ... lmao. I have no idea, but I remember the cheese bread thing. It was the size of a surfboard and I jumped on it.
The second dream, Brandon and I had decided to get married. I’m not 100% sure why ... but I think part of it was for the tuition benefits? So we had made the reservations or whatever at a church that’s actually where the funeral home is next to the old folks home that I work at.
We were sitting outside in some little patio-garden area, and I went inside to see if the church was ready. The church was kind of split up into quarters. There was an aisle running from the top of the room down to the bottom, and then there was a break in the chairs running across the room so people could come in on the side. It actually looked like a lecture hall ... except it was a church. Anyway, there were all of the residents who I love that I work with ... and one that I don’t.
Good ol’ Mrs. Law was there.
When I asked if everything was ready for the ceremony to the priest, Mrs. Law yelled, "No! We can’t afford to have the ceremony, you’re going to have to wait. I pay your wages, you can’t object to me!" and she kept going. So I ended up calling her an old hag and saying that I wanted today to be my wedding day, it was planned etc. etc.
Sitting at the very back of the church, top row, was one of my favourite residents, Mrs. Scott. She got up with her walker and said, "Don’t you worry honey, even if I have to drive you to ever church in town, you’ll be married by the end of today!". It was so sweet (I told her when I came to work tonight lol)
So the priest told me that I should just go "calm down with your fiancé outside, I’ll get her out of your hair". So I went outside and sat across Brandon’s lap and he was like "what’s wrong" and I told him everything. He kissed my hand and told me everything was going to be okay, and no matter what day our wedding day was it wouldn’t matter because we were in *insert L-word here*. cue me stabbing myself in real life
We ended up walking back towards my house, and at the end of Downey Rd he got a call on his cell, and then said, "I have to go home, I’ll come back to be with you later". He kissed me on the cheek, then continued down Rideau towards Nepean.
So I was all upset that 1. My wedding fell through (every woman’s nightmare? Well at least I wasn’t left at the altar) and 2. my fiancé wasn’t with me to cheer me up. So I walked all the way back home where my parents were setting up the celebration banners and stuff. I explained to them what happened, and my dad was fuming at Mrs. Law lol.
Katie called me and when she asked where Brandon was, I told her he was taking care of a family emergency or something and said he’d be back later tonight. Just then he came in my room with a dozen or so roses ... He said to me, "you were the family emergency" and gave me a big kiss. I was like aw. Everything is okay now.
I woke up there.
I msgd Brandon about it this morning. That was another story that was too retarded to not tell someone right away. I think he thinks I’m a complete whackjob. lol
Balls to love. Grar

Okay so this morning, for a change, I felt kind of good about how I am physically. I was happy going out the door to work, and then as I walk past my mother, she gives me a look up and down and says, "You really need to start swimming again".
Gee, thanks mom ... you're a real kill-joy you know that?
I'm on a diet. She knows that, so it's not like she's unaware that I'm trying. I have some little work outs to start with, then once my grammas pool opens up, I'll be going there after work a lot to do laps and cool off. If I can find a decent lane swim at a decent pool that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I'll hit that place up a few times a week too. I have a new bike. Weekends I'm going to start biking to Katie's or Jack's or Meagan's or Brandon's or Sarah's or Midget's, or anyone else who wants me to comes by.
Aiyoy. Eat your orange and be happy Kayla.
Speaking of happy ... FUCKIN' RIGHT OILERS! First time since 1990 baby - LET'S GO ALL THE WAY! (FYI I am not a band-wagoner. Oilers are my Western Team. Always have been.)
The flights are booked and so are the hotels for Edmonton and Calgary for me and my mom. I'm getting kind of excited now.
Today is the Master-Senior in Oshawa. I fuckin' wish I was there. Apparently Mike does too. I msgd him last night saying good luck, and he's like "thanks babe, and why the hell aren't you down here?!" lol.
I can't wait for YABA in the fall. Not to mention my new balls ... where the hell are youuu?! It's been almost 2 months! Actually ... it HAS been 2 months! Ah well ... they'll be worth it.
Speaking of waiting for packages to ship (oh we were so talking about that) ... Brandon's bday present finally came in. It was the gangster fedora that I had to order (well ... Jack ordered it) from some online hat store.
Y'know when you wait so long for something ... like a certain moment, and you build it up in your mind, and you just want it to be perfect? LIke you'll find the perfect Christmas present for you mom in September, so you have to wait until Christmas morning for her to open it, but when she does finally open it, her eyes light up and it's absolutely perfect? That's what I wanted with the hat.
So I got the msg from Jack when I was at work, "The hat just came". I was sooo happy. I picked it up from his house that night, and went right to Brandon's house for him to open it. He had no idea what it was, and I had been taunting him about it since like ... February probably. He opened it and he was like "oh wow" and I could tell he loved it. The problem? THEY SENT A FREAKING SMALL. WE ORDERED A MEDIUM. IT'S TOO SMALL FOR BRANDON. GAHHH.
So now Jack and I are trying to get in touch with the dude from the store to see if we can make an exchange or something.
I wish it had of worked out :(
Tonight I'm supposed to be doing something with Manitoba and Alex. Dinner and a movie I think is what we're doing. They're supposed to tell me today. And the best part? I DON'T HAVE TO DRIVE! YAY SAVING GAS!
Anyway ... I'm at work, and I have to make some copies of brochures ... don't know why, all of the brochures are full. Oh wait, I know why.
'Cause Sandra's an IDIOT
